5-Day Ghizer Valley Tour – Explore Phander Lake, Ghakuch & Yasin Valley

04:00 AM – Departure from Islamabad (G-13/1 / Daewoo Terminal). Buckle up for an unforgettable Northern Pakistan tour as we journey through some of the most scenic routes in the region.

Our first leg takes us along the Hazara Motorway, cutting through picturesque landscapes towards Balakot, a charming town nestled by the River Kunhar. We’ll stop at the stunning Kawaii Waterfalls, where you can capture the perfect Instagram shot against the cascading waters.

Breakfast will be served in Balakot or at Kawaii, fueling us for the breathtaking journey ahead.

As we ascend into the heart of the Kaghan Valley, you’ll witness the beauty of Naran, a town famed for its lush meadows and crisp mountain air. From there, we continue towards the majestic Babusar Top, crossing through Batakundi and stopping at the famous Moon Restaurant in Besal.

On the way, we’ll pause to admire the pristine beauty of Lulusar Lake, known for its crystal-clear waters reflecting the surrounding peaks.

Reaching the Babusar Pass, you’ll be standing at one of the highest points accessible by road in Pakistan, offering panoramic views of the surrounding mountain ranges.

Descending from Babusar Top, we transition onto the legendary Karakoram Highway, the highest paved international road in the world. By evening, we’ll arrive in Chillas, where you’ll unwind with dinner and a cozy night’s stay at Fairy Meadows Cottages, Panorama Hotel, or Indus Lodges.

Start your day with a hearty breakfast at the hotel before we hit the road towards Gilgit, traveling along the awe-inspiring Karakoram Highway.

Our first highlight of the day is a stop at the Nanga Parbat Viewpoint, where you can gaze at the world’s ninth-highest peak in all its glory. Just ahead lies the Junction Point of Three Mountain Ranges, where the Karakoram, Hindu Kush, and Himalayan ranges converge—a sight that defines the rugged beauty of Northern Pakistan travel.

We’ll take a brief detour into Gilgit City, giving you time to explore the bustling Gilgit Bazaar before heading towards the serene Ghizer Valley.

The adventure continues as we drive into Yasin Valley, a hidden gem of Gilgit-Baltistan. Experience the tranquil village life, surrounded by towering peaks and fertile valleys. Capture the rustic charm and simplicity of this untouched region.

By evening, we’ll make our way to Gahkuch in Ghizer Valley, where you’ll settle in for dinner and a restful night at Hotel Green Palace Gahkuch.

• After breakfast, we embark on a scenic drive towards the breathtaking Phander Valley. En route, we’ll visit Khalti Lake near Gupis, known for its turquoise waters that mirror the surrounding mountains.

  As we arrive in Phander Valley, prepare to be mesmerized by the lush meadows, serene waters, and dramatic landscapes. Spend the day exploring the pristine beauty of Phander Lake, surrounded by the Phander Forest and the winding Phander River. Don’t forget to cross the charming Phander Bridge, a perfect spot for photography.

  After a full day of adventure, we’ll return to Gahkuch by evening for a delightful BBQ and bonfire under the starlit sky. Unwind with your fellow travelers at Hotel Green Palace Gahkuch.

Fuel up with a wholesome breakfast before we bid farewell to Gahkuch and head back towards Gilgit City.

On our way, we’ll visit the historic Buddha Rocks, ancient carvings that stand as a testament to the region’s rich cultural heritage. Enjoy a scenic stop by the Gilgit River before continuing towards Chillas and retracing our route via the stunning Babusar Top.

With short sightseeing stops along the way, we’ll reach Naran by evening. Relax and enjoy a warm dinner at your hotel—choose from Manila Heights, Naran Retreat, or Amazon Resorts.

After your breakfast, seize the day with optional adrenaline-pumping activities. Opt for a jeep ride to Lake Saif ul Malook (personal expense) and immerse yourself in the magical reflections of towering peaks on its serene waters.

For thrill-seekers, river rafting near Naran (personal expense) offers an exhilarating way to experience the roaring River Kunhar.

By noon, we’ll begin our journey back towards Islamabad and Lahore, traveling via Balakot and the Hazara Motorway. Enjoy scenic views and short breaks as we make our way home.

Expect to arrive in Islamabad around 7:00 PM and Lahore by midnight.
